Tributes are being paid to Seán Ardagh who passed away earlier today.

The former Fianna Fáil TD for Dublin South Central was 68 – he’d successfully battle cancer in 2010 – however lost his fight for life this morning.

Micheál Martin’s leading the tributes saying Mr Ardagh was a great gentleman of Irish politics.

Mr Ardagh’s survived by his wife Máire, his daughter Senator Catherine Ardagh and sons Rory and Charlie.
