Gardaí have arrested two men as part of the investigation into the murder of David Byrne.

The two men, one in his 50s and the second in his 30s, are detained at Swords and Clontarf Garda Stations under Section 50 of The Criminal Justice Act 2007.

This brings the number of people who have been arrested as part of this murder investigation to three.

32-year-old David Byrne died following a shooting in the Regency Hotel in February.

Four attackers armed with automatic weapons stormed the Regency Hotel in Drumcondra in broad daylight.

The hotel was filled with people attending a weigh-in for a boxing match.
