Police in Chicago have said finding Sinead O’Connor was a “wonderful outcome”.

O’Connor was found staying in a hotel after she went missing earlier this week, police in Illinois said.

Wilmette police spokesman Eric Peterson said on Tuesday that 10 departments helped canvass area hotels. He said finding Sinead safe was “a wonderful outcome”.

He declined to provide other details, including about where exactly the singer was found, her condition or where she is now.

O’Connor went missing after going for a bike ride on Sunday morning, but was found on Monday night.

She has since hit out at her family in a lengthy and emotional Facebook post.
