Fiona Doyle has finished in fourth place in the final of the Women’s 100m Breastroke at the European Championships in London.

After only scraping into the final as the 8th fastest, Doyle produced an outstanding swim to touch the wall in 1:07:76.

That time saw her narrowly miss out on a podium finish behind Ruta Meiluttye of Lithuania.

Meanwhile, Shane Ryan had to settle for fifth place in his semi-final in the Men’s 50-metre Backstroke.

After setting a new National Record during this morning’s heats, Ryan couldn’t improve on that time tonight – touching the wall in 25.32 seconds to finish back in 11th place overall.

This morning, Sycerika McMahon placed second in her heat of the Womens 200-metre Individual Medley, but in a time not fast enough to progress to the semis.
