Gardaí seized drugs with an estimated street value of €300,000 during planned searches in the south of Dublin city centre this morning.

Gardaí seized 1kg of heroin, 1.75kg of cocaine and 1.8kg of cannabis resin within the Kevin Street District.

Gardaí from the D.M.R. South Central Division assisted by members of the Garda Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, Special Detective Unit and officers from the Criminal Assets Bureau carried out a number of searches as part of Operation Thistle.

The assorted drugs were discovered in two premises, one on York Street and the other in the Mount Browne area.

Two men, aged 22 and mid 40s, have been arrested and are currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice, (Drug Trafficking), Act, 1996 at Kevin Street and Kilmainham Garda Stations.
