The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (IMNO) will take industrial action at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.
Talks have broken down on the second day at the Workplace Relations Commission between members of the IMNO and management at the hospital.
The dispute centres around a shortage of nursing staff at the facility, which they have said is negatively impacting upon patient care and staff morale.
Nurses at the hospital will hold a work-to-rule on Tuesday 24 May where nurses will set aside non-core working duties.
