Luas drivers met with shop stewards this evening to discuss the ongoing pay dispute.
Although the drivers said they would support shop stewards if they thought an escalation of industrial action was necessary, no decision has been taken on whether to ballot for an all-out strike.
Today is the 12th day of strike action by Luas drivers, with around 90,000 commuters affected.
Next week, the Labour Court will explore whether an intervention is necessary after Luas representatives meet with the Irish Congress of Trade Unions.
“Our shop stewards had a comprehensive meeting with their members earlier this evening, ” said Siptu’s Owen Reidy.
“They appraised them of the dispute and where it was at.
“Obviously workers are very frustrated with how they feel management have handled this dispute.
“many of the workers said at the meeting that if at some stage in the future that shop stewards feel it necessary to escalate, they would support that.”
