The US Embassy has said it is working to ensure all students eligible for the J1 visa can avail of it.

This is the first year that students are required to apply to a sponsor agency and secure work before applying for a visa.

It comes after an agency informed around 100 students that it may not be able to provide the documentation, after it encountered problems with its sponsor American Work Adventures.

The US Embassy has said it is engaging with other sponsors to ensure that those affected can participate in the program.
