Mario Gotze says he will be back with Bayern Munich next season after he split from his agents in order to let his family control his affairs in future.

There has been much speculation that the playmaker may leave Munich this summer after a disappointing season on a personal level under Pep Guardiola.

The 23-year-old made only 14 appearances in the Bundesliga and he had been linked with a return to Borussia Dortmund or a reunion with Jurgen Klopp, his former Dortmund coach, at Liverpool next season.

However, he appears keen instead on fighting for his place under new Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti next season.

“I’m looking forward to next season in Munich,” he told Germany’s Bild newspaper. “I’m going to give it everything I can to ensure I am fully fit for my first training session under Carlo Ancelotti.”

Were Gotze to seek a move this summer, it would be his family and not the SportsTotal agency taking control of matters after the two parties mutually agreed to end their collaboration with immediate effect on Monday.

“Many thanks to SportsTotal and their employees for six years of honest collaboration and great engagement,” Gotze wrote on his Facebook page.

“This is a period of time which has defined me. After several talks, we have decided to end our collaboration mutually and I will pass over the management into the hands of my family.

“Now I only want to focus on the European Championship anyway. We have a title to win there which none of us have won yet.”
