An investigation into the structure of the Longboat Quay apartment complex in Dublin has revealed major problems with the roof.

The Irish Examiner reports the repairs will cost €1.3m.

Last year a Dublin Court issued a fire safety order, saying problems at the building must be dealt with to avoid the evacuation of 600 residents.

The total cost of the repair bill is expected to be known in the coming weeks at which point negotiations will begin to establish how much residents must pay.
