Kellie Harrington has won her World championship semi-final in Astana and is now guaranteed at least a silver medal.

The Dubliner had already guaranteed bronze at the Championships and never looked under pressure in today’s match.

The 26-year-old won each round of the fight against Canada’s Sara Cali this morning.

Harrington will become only the second Irish female boxer to win a medal at the World Championships, after Katie Taylor.

Taylor also fights for silver this afternoon, having guaranteed her place in Rio with a quarter-final win.

Harrington will not travel to Rio, as her light-welterweight weight class is not included in the Olympics.
