Sligo-based graphic designer Dan Leydon has won a hotly contested BT Sport competition to design artwork for tomorrow’s Champions League Final.
He saw off competition from other renowned graphic designers in a public vote and his artwork will be displayed in Milan tomorrow.
The Irish illustrator won a public X Factor-style competition on Instagram and Twitter.
Based in Sligo, Dan created a match poster for the final which features Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone and his Real Madrid counterpart Zinedine Zidane travelling together from Madrid to Milan for the final.
Dan’s winning poster, and a selection of the other #ChampionsDraw artwork, will be on display in central Milan this week as part of UEFA’s Champions Festival.
He received many congratulations when the results were announced, including from Real star Gareth Bale.
