Spanish newspaper Sport is absolutely taking the p**s with its front page today.

The Catalan paper is legendarily pro-Barcelona FC and, as a result, very much anti-Real Madrid.

So when Zinedine Zidane’s men won the Champions League on penalties on Saturday night, Sport was left with the challenge of spinning the story to make it favourable to Barcelona.

It did this by basing the front page splash on a comparison between the two clubs’ trophy hauls this season.

Ok, Real Madrid had won the Champions League, Europe’s premier club competition, but Barca had won La Liga, the Copa del Rey, the Uefa Super Cup and the Fifa Club World Cup.

Translated, the headline reads: “Barca win 4-1. The proof that Barca’s 2015-16 has been better than Real Madrid’s.”

Ah lads, come on – at least pretend to be even-handed.
