Gardaí in Dublin are appealing for the public’s help in tracing the whereabouts of a missing Canadian national who was staying in Dublin on holidays.

61-year-old, John Philip Ellis was last seen at approximately 2pm just off the main street in Swords on Monday.

He is described as heavyset, approximately 5 feet 9 inches in height with white hair and glasses.

When last seen he was wearing a red top.

Anyone with any information on his whereabouts is being asked to come forward.

Update (Thursday, July 2, 9.09am): John Philip Ellis has been found safe and well.
