The Minister for Foreign Affairs Charlie Flanagan is in the UK today ahead of the country’s vote on whether or not to stay in the European Union.
Voters will go to the polls in the historic referendum in three weeks time on June 23.
It is thought almost a third of voters there are still deciding on whether or not they want a Brexit.
Flanagan will meet with Irish people who are eligible to take part in the vote in his two day visit.
He says it is important for the stability of both islands that the UK stays in the EU.
“This being a matter sorely for the people of the United Kingdom,” said Flanagan.
“It’s important therefore that we fully inform them as to our view that British-Irish relations are better served by (the) United Kingdom remaining firmly a member of the European Union”.
