The jury foreman in the longest-running criminal trial in the history of the State has told the court that they have reached verdicts on two of the counts.

Four former bankers are accused of conspiring to defraud investors and depositors in Anglo Irish Bank over a five-month period in 2008.

Peter Fitzpatrick (aged 63) of Convent Lane, Portmarnock, Dublin, John Bowe (aged 52) from Glasnevin, Dublin, Willie McAteer (aged 65) of Greenrath, Tipperary Town, Co Tipperary and Denis Casey (aged 56), from Raheny, Dublin have all pleaded not guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to conspiring together and with others to mislead investors through financial transactions between March 1 and September 30, 2008.

The jurors have now been deliberating for over 37 hours.

Judge Martin Nolan was told they are making great progress on the final two counts but have not reached final verdicts in relation to any of the accused.
