Jamie Vardy’s improbable rise to glory as the talisman of Premier League champions Leicester is all set to be made into a Hollywood blockbuster.


Ireland’s Jonathan Rhys Meyers starred in the top-grossing Bend it Like Beckham.

No word yet on who will play the England striker, although apparently Vinnie Jones is being lined up the play Nigel Pearson – Claudio Ranieri’s predecessor as Leicester manager.

It will be just the latest attempt to translate the beautiful game to the silver screen. Some previous efforts have been fantastic – others not so much.

You probably could have predicted appearances from ‘Escape to Victory’ and ‘Bend it Like Beckham’.
