The Dáil has failed to elect a Leas-Cheann Comhairle today.
Four candidates went forward for the post, but none secured a majority.
Sinn Féin’s Seán Crowe, Independent Mattie McGrath, Fianna Fáil’s Pat ‘The Cope’ Gallagher and Fine Gael’s Bernard Durkan had all been put forward for the post.
The process to elect a vice-chair of the Dáil will now likely have to be re-run next week.
