Justice knows no bounds as a dog in Cork had to go to the Offices of the Ombudsman to get a fair trial, after he was wrongly accused of biting someone.
The Ombudsman found the dog’s owner was incorrectly fined by Cork County Council, after it failed to properly investigate the claim made about the dog attacking someone.
It found the fine was based only on an allegation, and the facts of the case had not been proven.
The Ombudsman Peter Tyndall said they got involved and the dog finally got the justice he deserved.
“It was a dog wrongly accused of biting and the dog was not entitled to a fair trial and it had no right to appeal.
“So we stepped in and the dog’s owner was reprieved.”
