A Dublin TD is telling middle class drug-users to accept some responsibility for the city’s gangland problems.
Maureen O’Sullivan has said the same drug dealers involved in the Kinahan/Hutch gang feud are supplying customers in more affluent parts of the capital.
So far seven people have died since the violence started last year – with four victims killed within just one square mile.
The Taoiseach Enda Kenny is to visit the area to meet the locals affected by the feud.
But Maureen O’Sullivan has said the problem is not just confined to the inner city: “I hate the words recreational drugs, because it is giving a completely different perception.
“But the same dealer who provides the heroin and the crack cocaine and the tablets is the same dealer who is providing the so-called socially acceptable coke.
“But it doesn’t matter whether you are snorting it in a high class restaurant or hotel or shooting up in the street, it is the same dealer making money out of your addiction.”
