Gardaí have seized cannabis herb with an estimated value of €100,000 in Carlow Town.

The drugs were seized by gardaí from the Kilkenny/Carlow Divisional Drugs Unit following the planned search of a premises in the town shortly after 2.30pm yesterday afternoon,

They were assisted by members of the Garda Dog Unit, Cork.

One man, aged in his early 40s, was arrested at scene and is being detained at Carlow Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
