A 36-year-old Irish woman has been arrested after cannabis worth €94,000 was discovered during a raid in Galway.

As part of a joint operation between Gardaí and Customs, a search took place at a house in Knocknacarra earlier and just under 5 kilograms of cannabis was seized.

The drugs had originated in West Africa and were concealed in dried fish.

A woman was arrested at the scene and is being held at Galway Garda Station.
