The result of a ballot of Luas drivers on a Labour Court-recommended pay deal should be known this evening.

The tram drivers have been voting on whether to accept an 18% pay increase that would bring an end to the four-month long row over pay and conditions.

Strikes this week were called off pending the outcome of the ballot.

Commuters have faced 12 days of industrial action so far due to the ongoing dispute.

The three non-driver grades at Luas previously voted to accept a 13% pay rise over three years.

SIPTU’s Owen Reidy has accused the company of not being open to a resolution for drivers.
