Met Éireann has issued an Status Orange rainfall alert for tomorrow, warning of intense thunderstorms on Bank Holiday Monday.

After the beautiful weather of recent days, there will be some downpours tomorrow.

Motorists are being warned of treacherous road conditions in areas affected by the storms. There is a risk of floods.

However, Met Éireann forecaster John Eagleton said any flooding would be quite limited.

“The rainfall will be quite heavy, but we’ve nothing to worry about like the heavy floods in Paris,” he said.

It will be warm, with temperatures between 20C and 24C.

The showers will continue into tomorrow evening, but Tuesday will be mainly dry. The sun will make a return on Wednesday, with temperatures of up to 25C expected.

That’s what we’ll focus on then :)
