An investigation is under way after a teenage boy died following a house party in County Meath over the weekend.

The 17-year-old had attended a party in Navan on Sunday night and was later discovered unconscious at friend’s house.

He was brought to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda in County Louth where he died a short time later.

A post-mortem examination has been carried out and Gardaí say the boy’s death is not being treated as suspicious.

A file is being prepared under the Coroner’s Act.

The teenager was due to start his Leaving Certificate Exams tomorrow.
