A Dublin man arrested in Spain has been charged with the murders of two men in county Louth in 2012.

The defendant, who was extradited from Spain late last night, has been charged with the murders of two men, also from Dublin, whose badly burnt remains were found by fire fighters responding to a car fire close to the Louth/Armagh border.

Today, Det. Insp. Pat Marry of Dundalk Garda Station gave evidence of arresting 33-year-old Jason O’Driscoll of Richmond Avenue, Dublin 3 at Dublin Airport at 12.24am this morning on foot of two arrest warrants.

The court heard the accused made no reply when he was charged at Dundalk Garda Station at 1.35am with the murders of 32-year-old Anthony Burnett and 25-year-old Joseph Redmond at Ravensdale Park, Dromad on March 7, 2012.

Inspector Marry said he was seeking a remand in custody to Cloverhill District Court.

The defence barrister said there was consent to the application, and Judge Conall Gibbons remanded the accused in custody to Cloverhill District Court this day week.
