A brand new luxury home has been opened in Dublin Zoo for its family of orangutans.

The habitat is five times the size of their previous home, and includes fake trees with elevators that bring their food to the top.

It also has a brand new rope bridge, so the animals can climb across a public path above your head.

The Director of Dublin Zoo, Leo Oosterweghel, says they have built feeders into the top of the man-made trees to encourage the animals to climb to eat.

He said: “At the very top there is a little feeding point which is supplied by a tiny elevator which is in side the tree and you cannot see.

“So there are little encouragements all round at a great height.”
