Two women and a 16-year-old girl have been arrested in connection with a suspected arson attack in north Belfast.

A fire was started at the front door of a property on Agnes Street at around 3.30am today.

A female occupant escaped the scene through a window before fire service personnel extinguished the blaze.

The property was excessively smoke damaged and the front porch and entrance hallway were badly damaged by fire.

A 16-year-old and two 21-year-olds are helping police with their enquiries.
