Update 10pm: In further disturbing scenes, a group of fans shouting “Have it” occupied a roadside brasserie called the Red Eagle which appeared to be well alight.
Footage showed some supporters lobbing bottles and chairs from the venue – some simply striking the canopy above them – while a fire raged in the building. Police could be seen gathered a short distance away.

Update 9pm: Fist fights have been breaking out between English and French speaking men, and one man was thrown into the harbour after he was beaten to the ground.
Original story: England football fans have once again clashed with police in the French port town of Marseille.
Supporters who had been drinking for most of the day at the Queen Victoria pub in the Old Port district threw bottles at French riot police, who used tear gas to disperse them.
The officers, who wore full riot gear, were seen marching towards hundreds of England fans who ran away down the street.

The clashes come after a night of violence in the city in southern France, and just hours before the first game between the hosts and Romania in Paris.
One England supporter suffered a head injury in Thursday night’s brawl after being hit across the face with a wooden chair, and according to reports, some England fans were heard chanting: “Isis, where are you?”
Bare-chested England fans dodged the gas deployed by police as an afternoon of drinking and singing turned ugly.
Police with helmets, batons and shields grappled troublemakers to the ground amid beer bottles and rubbish strewn across the cobbled streets.
Supporters are in Marseille ahead of England’s game with Russia on Saturday.
Following the skirmishes, which started at around 6.20pm French time, the fans continued to sing about the IRA, German bombers being shot down and the national anthem.
Bottles were thrown as the police formed a new line and watched on from about 50m away.
A crowd of locals came to watch and continued to grow until the bottles were turned on to them.
Police continued to charge at fans in attempts to scatter them.

A number of arrests were made during the clashes, and a man wearing what appeared to be an England shirt was seen being led away by police.
