€4.2m worth of contraband cigarettes have been seized in Co. Wexford.

The 8 million “Aroma” branded cigarettes, presented a potential loss to the Exchequer of around €3.3m.

They were seized yesterday following intelligence led searches Revenue officers of a number of premises in the Enniscorthy area.

The cigarettes had arrived into Dublin Port from Vietnam, via Rotterdam, last Friday in a container consigned as ‘Garden Furniture’.
