A Northern Ireland fan has been found well after an online appeal by friends fearing for his safety at the European Championships.

Kane Leslie from Portsmouth had not been seen since Sunday afternoon in the French city of Nice.

His friend Steve Hudson said he had been “set upon” and his wallet and phone taken.

Following a social media appeal he made contact. Mr Hudson added: “I have spoken to him and he is okay.”

Mr Leslie was last seen in a bar with plans to sleep on the beach, according to tweets by his friends.

It follows the death of Darren Rodgers in the south coast city when he fell from a promenade.
