The Taoiseach is due in Liverpool this afternoon to campaign for the UK to remain in the European Union.
Enda Kenny will meet emigrant communities in the city today, before travelling to Manchester tonight to speak to a business audience.
It comes as another national poll in the UK gives the Leave campaign a six-point lead, with a week to go until polling.
Labour leader Brendan Howlin is also in Liverpool today – and he has said the EU’s problems are more easily fixed if the UK stays in: “Of course the European Union is not a perfect entity, we know that very clearly.
“We are critical of it, but neither is politics in Dublin or politics in Westminister, no more than they are perfect, are Brussels perfect.
“We want to continue working with the United Kingdom to make it better.”
