The end of a long and distinguished career has come for two members of the teaching staff at Gorey Community School – Vincent Browne (English) and Lucy Power (French) – as their colleagues honoured them and wished them well on their recent retirement at a special function held in the Ashdown Park Hotel, Gorey.
Vincent taught at Loreto Secondary School and Lucy was on the teaching staff of Gorey CBS up to 1993 and the amalgamation of Gorey’s three second level schools (Gorey Vocational School was the other) into Gorey Community School.
Paying tribute, Principal Michael Finn, acknowledged their contribution to the school and thanked them individually for their significant contribution to education.
TPresentations were made to both retiring teachers and offered good wishes for a long and happy retirement.
