A government taskforce is to be set up to tackle social issues in Dublin’s North Inner City.
Councillors from the area met the Taoiseach this evening to discuss the terms of reference of the taskforce.
A brainstorming session will be held next Wednesday with community representatives to determine short and long term strategies for the area.
Independent Councillor Nial Ring says the meeting was very productive.
“The Taoiseach just asked what we felt were the issues, what we felt were the possible solutions and what we wanted the government and in particular his department to do for Dublin’s North Inner City in terms of short, long, and medium-term strategy.”
