US Vice President Joe Biden arrives in Ireland for a six day trip where he will take in Dublin, Mayo and Louth.

He will be joined on the visit by his brother, sister, children and grandchildren.

Mayo TD Michael Ring has said it is great for tourism: “I suppose you are not working so hard on tourism on the Wild Atlantic Way, and trying to encourage people to come into the county.

“This will be a great boost for the county and the country, to have the vice president of the United States come into our country and our county.”
