Jan O’Sullivan will meet with representatives of the housing sector today to launch the Labour Party’s Social and Affordable Housing Bill for 2016.

Members of Focus Ireland, Threshold and the Peter McVerry Trust will join Party councillors to discuss the draft bill.

As the party’s Housing Spokesperson O’Sullivan has said rent security and supply are two of the biggest measures outlined in the document.

Jan O’Sullivan believes that today’s feedback will be crucial.

“(There are) a number of different measures in the bill designed to address the issues of affordability and the crucial issue of supply,” said O’Sullivan.

“But, we want to engage with the sector so that we have the opportunity to learn from their expertise as well.”
