Ireland goalkeeper Darren Randolph has earned himself a new nickname after producing a marvellous, yet terrifying, piece of skill against Italy, writes Stephen Barry.

33 minutes were on the clock, the score a tense 0-0 and in goal Randolphinho decided to produce a Cruyff turn.

He truly conned Simone Zaza, who could only bow his head in a mix of shame and appreciation.

The nervy Irish fans both loved it and hated it at the same time…

Surely it’s a sign…

So far Randolph has done his bit in the must-win game, but Ireland are still locked in a scoreless tie at the break.
