There are 290 patients waiting for beds in the country’s hospitals today.

University Hospital Limerick has the highest number, 34.

There are 24 patients each waiting for beds in the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise and Beaumont in Dublin.

The Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore and Cork University Hospital have 23 each, most of whom are on trolleys.
