Ryanair is putting on special flights from Dublin to Lyon over the weekend, for Ireland’s historic clash with France.

The departures have been set for 8.10am on Saturday morning, 1.20pm on Saturday afternoon and 5.55am on Sunday morning.

Return flights will leave Lyon at 9.25pm on Sunday night, half past midnight on Monday 27 and also at noon on Monday.

Ryanair’s Robin Kiely said: “We’ve been inundated with requests from Irish fans ever since the final whistle blew in Lille last night and we’ve scheduled five special Euro 2016 flights.

“They are only available for booking on the Ryanair.com website.

“Fans should note that these flights will operate with hand baggage only, to remind ourselves of Thierry Henry’s handball in 2009, and we all hope the French defence joins their Air Traffic Controllers and the rest of their unions by going AWOL on Sunday.”
