A man has died in a workplace accident in Tipperary.

It is understood the man, who was in his 20s and from Newcastle in the UK, was working on a stud farm at Fethard yesterday evening when the incident occurred.

It is understood the man was on a teleporter with another man when the machine overturned. His family have been contacted.

The other man, who was also in his 20s and from Fethard, is in hospital in Waterford with serious injuries.

The Health and Safety Authority has launched an investigation into the fatality.

Inspectors are examining the scene this morning.
