EIGHT STRATEGIC locations around Gorey town are beaming live pictures back to Wexford County Council and Gorey Garda Station on a 24-hour basis and the new system, which will help with traffic management, anti-social behaviour and all types of crime, was put on public show for the first time at a meeting between the Council members and officials and An Garda Siochana.

The impressive new pictures were shown on a big screen as Cllr Malcolm Byrne, outgoing Chairman of Gorey Town Council, unveiled the system in the company of District Superintendent Liam White and Inspector Sean Clince, while a demonstration and explanation was performed by Jo Foley and Pawel Makulski, who were familiar with the workings of the new system.

Currently the CCTV operates from eight cameras, however, it has a 32-camera capacity which will allow for an expansion of the system in future.
