A man has been found guilty of making two threats to seriously harm his wife during the breakdown of their marriage in 2014.
The jury still has to consider an allegation of rape as well as her claims that he headbutted her and threatened to kill her twice.
On Day three of this trial, the woman outlined an incident in June 2014 when she went to do some shopping in a Dublin branch of Dunnes Stores.
She said he came out of nowhere and told her he knew everywhere she had been that day and everything she had done.
She said that he told her he would have a hammer the next time they met and she wouldn’t see him coming.
The jury found him guilty of making that threat after just over six hours of deliberations.
They also convicted him of threatening to cut her face off with a knife on the night of the alleged rape – May 25, 2014.
The jurors still have to consider whether he forced her to have sex with him that night as well as her claim that he head butted her on their son’s birthday a few weeks beforehand.
The 42-year-old is also accused of threatening to kill her on two occasions.
The jury will continue its deliberations tomorrow morning.
