Update 1pm: The National Lottery has said the winner of the €24m jackpot has been in touch about their Euromillions prize.

Update 11.47am: The Chief Executive of Dublin Bus has said he is delighted for each of the 22 bus drivers who have won nearly €24m.

It is believed a syndicate from Broadstone Bus Depot in Phibsboro won the Euromillions jackpot, and each is likely to take home more than a million euro.

Speculation is rife as to who the drivers are, and the Lotto has said no one person or group has actually come forward to claim the prize as yet.

In a statement, Dublin Bus Chief Executive Ray Coyne has said it is great to see such a big group of workers sharing the win, and he wishes them all the best.

Update 10am: The National Lottery has said no one has yet come forward to claim a Euromillions jackpot worth almost €24m.

A spokesperson said the ticket can be verified over the phone and they are urging the winner or winners to ensure they sign the back of it and keep it safe.

Due to the amount of cash involved, the money will not be available for collection until later this week.

Earlier:

A syndicate of 22 Dublin Bus workers who won nearly €24m in the EuroMillions draw are “walking around like rabbits in the headlights”, their co-worker has said.

Speaking to Ryan Tubridy on RTE Radio this morning, John said: “They’re in total disbelief. They’re checking the numbers four, five, six, seven times and with each other.

“They’re like rabbits in the headlights. There’s no point talking to them – they’re just out of it.”

The drivers based in a North Dublin garage stand to receive more than €1m each thanks to the syndicate win. Management at the depot also run a syndicate, and have joked their turn is next.

It is understood most of the drivers in the 22-man syndicate are in their 50s and 60s.

Yesterday, a Lotto spokesperson said that they could not confirm the news until the office reopens this morning.
