The Taoiseach has denied having a “special deal” with the independent Tipperary TD Michael Lowry.

Enda Kenny’s claims come after the former Minister told local media that Deputy Lowry had routine access to Government Ministers.

The issue was raised in the Dáíl this evening, where the Taoiseach said the same was true of all TDs.

“Every Deputy in the House here has access to Ministers – every Deputy,” he said.

“There is no special deal, written or otherwise, with Deputy Michael Lowry, and it may well be that the people of Tipperary will elect whoever they want at the next election in any event.”
