The interim CEO of Console said he has determined to make sure the services offered by the embattled charity survive.

Controversy surrounding financial irregularities emerged last week at the charity which offers support to those at risk of suicide and bereaved family members.

The Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement has since launched a criminal investigation.

Former CEO Paul Kelly and his family have been hit with a court order preventing them from accessing Console’s bank accounts.

Interim CEO David Hall said that everything is being done to ensure Console can keep helping those who need it.

“I can’t speak for the organisation, the entity, until other reviews are carried out, but most certainly the HSE, the regulator whom I’m speaking to at least three or four times a day, will absolutely protect these services,” he said.

“Wherever, whatever shape or configuration they happen [to be], they will be protected.”
