A post mortem is due to take place later today on the body of a toddler who died in Galway yesterday.

The 21-month-old boy was struck by a vehicle in a driveway at a house in the Clynagh area of Carraroe.

The incident happened at around 4pm yesterday.

Emergency services attended the scene, and the boy was airlifted to University Hospital Galway (pictured), where he was pronounced dead.
