A Dublin Council has passed a motion calling on the Government to immediately apply for a Presidential Decree for Ibrahim Halawa.
The Dubliner has been held in an Egyptian prison, without trial, for nearly three years now.
The Presidential Decree would allow him return to Ireland, before a final ruling has been made in his case.
Sinn Fein Cllr. Enda Fanning says the move sends a clear message that South Dublin County Council will continue to support calls for Ibrahim’s release.
