INMO members at the University Maternity Hospital in Limerick are expected to meet today to consider a ballot for industrial action.
The meeting comes as INMO members say the HSE failed to address an agreement brokered at the Workplace Relations Commission in November aimed at addressing staffing levels.
A spokesperson for the organisation said: “high elective induction activity is placing unbearable pressure on the service that still has significant midwife staffing deficits”.
