A woman who denies murdering her colleague in Co Wicklow told gardaí she was afraid of him because he used to follow her and wait outside her home.

Marta Herda of Pairc na Saile, Emoclew Road in Arklow is accused of deliberately driving them off the South Quay harbour on March 26th 2013.

During Marta Herda’s initial assessment in hospital, nurse Clare Best told the trial that the accused told her that a man in her car had been hurting her.

She said she knew he could not swim and repeatedly told her he didn’t think she would do it.

The court heard she used to work with Csaba Orsas at the BrookLodge hotel in Wicklow.

Ms Herda told Gardaí they were never in a relationship but that he would contact her by phone and text 24/7 and used to stand outside her home looking in her bedroom window.

She said he got into her car while she was parked outside her house on the morning in question.

She said he told her to drive and started feeling her leg.

She said she thought he was going to make her have sex with him so she hit the accelerator and drove into the water because she said she couldn’t take it anymore.

The trial continues tomorrow.
