More than 400 people are awaiting a bed at hospitals around the country today, according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.

The INMO says University Hospital Limerick is the most overcrowded with 37 people on trolleys.

Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda has 33 waiting for a bed, while 32 patients are in the same situation at University Hospital, Galway,

In total, 419 people are recorded on hospital chairs and trolleys in emergency departments and overflow areas of wards in the latest Trolley Watch report from the union.
